About
The department of physics was started in the year 2005. Our department has reached the milestone in creating University rank holders. We are happy to take opportunity To serve the students by providing them with a weekly “dr. A.p.j. abdul kalam club” Our teaching is equipped with study materials, Projects, field visits and well equipped laboratories. We are Preparing the students for competitive examinations. To Enrich the knowledge of our students, we offer add-on Course and certified professional courses are “basic Electronic components and their functions” and “repairing And servicing for house hold appliances.” The faculty members of physics and other Departments of our college are involved actively in various research programmes and organizing state level and National level seminars/ conferences. Workshop and Intercollegiate meet.
History
2004 - Began for ancillary physics to B.Sc., Computer Science and B.Sc., Mathematics.
2005 -It was established to offering B.Sc., Physics.

Program Outcomes
The study of physics enclosure the areas that are heat, light, sound, electricity, magnetism, electronics, mechanics, dynamics and waves & energy. Physics plays an important role in building the foundation for all engineering and technology. Further it is very mandatory course for all the Science students to have the knowledge of fundamentals of different areas of physics, so as to apply them in various fields e.g. semiconductor physics in digital electronics, micro processors and microcontrollers, optics in fiber optics communication, , magnetic properties in computer memories like compact disc, memory chip etc, lasers for medical and industrial applications, modern physics in nuclear reactor and solid state physics in research areas.
Add On Course
Besides that our department offering one Add on course namely Repairing of House hold Appliances. It was started in the year 2013. The Syllabus was framed by our department staff members with Dean for academic of our college. The purpose of this course is provide self employment opportunity for the science and non-major science student and also awareness about the handling of electronic equipments
